A Brief Biography of Pastor Randy Bennett
Pastor Randy is a native of Johnson City, Tennessee (hence the orange and white University of Tennessee flag outside the parsonage). He received his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance and Master of Music Education degree in Choral Conducting from East Tennessee State University (2000, 2002). Additionally, Randy studied trumpet at the prestigious College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati on a full-tuition scholarship.
Pastor Randy previously served as pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Freedom, PA. He is a candidate for ordination in the Central Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church, and a student at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Myerstown, PA, where he is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree. Pastor Randy will graduate in 2009.
Prior to entering pastoral ministry, Pastor Randy served in full-time music ministry at Zion United Methodist Church in York, PA. Randy’s accomplishments are many, and include: Regional finalist for the National Association of Teacher’s of Singing Competition, Professional Division; 1st Chair Trumpet, Tennessee All-State Band (1994); former soloist with the Johnson City Symphony, Johnson City Civic Chorale, The ETSU Men’s Ensemble, Choral, and Opera Workshop, the Lake Junaluska Singers, the Munsey Memorial UMC Chancel Choir, and the York Oratorio Society. Additionally, Randy earned the Eagle Scout Award in 1990, and received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Marine Corps in 1996. Pastor Randy also served as a member of the Chaplain Corps of the Southern Regional Police department, York County, until being re-appointed to Paxtonville.
Randy is married to Aime Martin Bennett (formerly of Dublin, VA), and the couple have recently celebrated their seven-year wedding anniversary. Together they are raising their daughters Madisyn (3/01/2004) and Haley (10/02/2005). Aime is a student at Lancaster Bible College, where she is completing her Bachelor of Science in Bible degree with an expected graduation date of 2009.
