Paxtonville Faith Walkers

Relay for Life

Thank you – Thank you – Thank you!!! You, our church family, have been very supportive of the activities we have held to raise money to help in the fight against cancer. None of our fundraisers would have been a success without your support. But, as you know, cancer continues to strike young and old alike and we must continue the work of raising monies to help with research for a cure and to give assistance to families who have been touched with this dreaded disease. Therefore, the Faith Walkers have two final fundraisers planned before the Midd-West Relay for Life rolls around on the dates of June 6 and 7.

We will not be asking for donations for either of these two remaining events. All we ask is that you participate. How? The first of these activities is a Hoagie Sale on Tuesday/Wednesday, May 13/14. The subs will be made on Tuesday evening. You can then enjoy them the following day for your lunch. Cost will be $3 each; look for an order form in the Fellowship Hall or expect to be approached by one of the members of the team.

The other event will be dinner out at Hoss’s Steak House in Shamokin Dam. (This was planned previously, but we had a snow/ice storm.) This has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 29th. You will need to have a ticket to show with your purchase. At that time a percentage of the cost of your meal will be given to our team. Get a group of your family or friends together to enjoy a time of fellowship and contribute to a worthwhile cause at the same time. Watch for more information in the bulletins.

American Cancer Society – Relay for Life

Cancer Survivors

The American Cancer Society and the Midd-West Area Relay for Life would like to honor your victory in the fight against cancer. You are invited to join fellow survivors from the community in a ceremony and a special lap around the track that is reserved for you in a Celebration of Life. The committee requests that you sign up and join in celebrating your victory and in giving encouragement to those who are currently battling cancer. Forms are with the

display in the Fellowship Hall. These may be given to Leta or placed in the mail.

Luminaries to Remember or Honor a Loved One

The 4th Midd-West Area Relay for Life will be held beginning on Friday, June 6th, at 6:00 pm. This is a 24-hour event in the fight against cancer. As part of the event, the track is lined with luminaries. Each luminary is lit in honor of someone who survived cancer or in memory of someone who did not. The honorees names are prominently displayed on the bags and will be placed in the program if received in time. Luminaries can be ordered for a donation for each bag. Forms are with the display in the Fellowship Hall. They may be given to Leta or placed in the mail.

Faith Walkers, our churches’ team in the fight against cancer, needs your help in keeping people walking during the 24-hour relay. Won’t you sign up on the sheet located with the display to fill a half hour or hour time slot. You will be helping the team and doing something good for your own healt
